The Wadsley and Loxley Commoners are holding a 'Robin Hood Day' on the common. This event will start at 1pm on Sunday 19th June, and it would be a great place to bring the family and a picnic and find out more about the Legend of Robin Hood and the common. This is a small event and there will be woodland crafts, music from the Traditional Fiddle Society, The Sherwood Foresters with their longbows, Maypole Dancing, Storytelling and demonstrations of Charcoal Making. The event will take place on the common, in the middle, flatter part, originally the playing fields, half way between the top car park on Long Lane and the Rural Lane Car Park, off Worrall Road, Wadsley.
