Wadsley and Loxley Commoners
Wadsley and Loxley Commoners (WALC) is a voluntary group of mainly local people who share a great love for Wadsley and Loxley Commons,
a nature reserve to the north-west of Sheffield. Founded over 25 years ago we have a programme of active conservation work, organise events -
notably monthly talks and regular nature walks, and have several formal and informal projects involving experts and volunteers - citizen science, if you like!
We welcome you to our website and hope you enjoy your online visit to the Common.
The aims of WALC are:
to conserve the Common,
to balance the pressure of visitor numbers with conservation,
to promote awareness of the Common,
to encourage enjoyment of its many features
We always welcome new members, new volunteers and new committee members!
