Sheffield and District Family History Society
Our society was formed over 40 years ago for the mutual benefit of people interested in the study of family and local history.
We have around five hundred members scattered across the world. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or just setting out to look for your ancestors why not join our international community of members and share your research journey with us?
The Society holds a local meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month (except August and December) at 7.30pm at Cemetery Road Baptist Church, Sheffield.
Non members are always welcome. Access to the building is from the Napier Street entrance. Parking is available in the supermarket car park opposite the entrance to the church.
We usually enjoy an illustrated talk by a visiting speaker on an aspect of family or local history. There is plenty of opportunity to discuss family history with other members and share any problems you may have with your research. Members and visitors also have the chance to peruse the Society bookstall over a cup of tea or coffee.
