Bolsterstone Archaeology and Heritage Group
Welcome to Bolsterstone!
Bolsterstone Archaeology and Heritage Group is a community group dedicated to exploring all aspects of our past, through archaeology, history, or in whatever way we can. We are an eclectic group of diverse backgrounds, with interests ranging far and wide. We are open to all times and places, but with our main focus on the heritage of Bolsterstone, the surrounding hills and valleys, and the region of South Yorkshire.
Our activities range from lectures and workshops, and walks in the landscape to occasional fieldwork projects including excavation, fieldwalking and surveying. We are always open to suggestions for things to do, and encourage members to come forward with new ideas. Bolsterstone has always formed the centre of our activities, but most of our public meetings take place at the community hall behind Christchurch, Stocksbridge. Regular bi-monthly meetings take place on the third Wednesday of the month at the community hall, except December, January and August at 7.30 pm. Other meetings and events take place on an irregular basis throughout the year. These are normally advertised in "Look Local".
Why not join us for an evening? Engaging with the past along with like minded people is a lot better than watching it on the telly! The entrance fee is £2 for members and £4 for non members, including tea or coffee. For more information contact the group at bolsterstoneahg@gmail.com Websitehttps://bolsterstoneheritage.weebly.com/
