Green City Action is an environmental charitable organisation based in Burngreave. It is committed to raising awareness of environmental issues in our multicultural community and working together to improve the environment for all. Our current School for Vegetables project aims to provide training and support for those wanting to grow their own food by engaging with local schools who will use the School for Vegetables site, based at Grimesthorpe Allotment, as a learning resource and outdoor classroom. The School for Vegetables project also aims to train and support local volunteers, residents and community organisations in learning new skills in horticulture and sustainable food growing. We also run a tool bank service which provides an affordable source of high quality tools and equipment for local people
