Description | Learn how to find, grow, harvest and use local medicinal plants We are inviting people to join us for both the Saturday and the Sunday, as we will be teaching different things on both days, but its also fine to join us for just one day. Workshop leaders Robyn James, Member of the National institute of medical herbalists. Stephen Watts, food grower and forager from Growsheffield. We will teach about the variety of different herbs that can be found in the local environment, - foraging for herbs, harvesting techniques and storage techniques - drying, tinctures, preserves. - how to grow herbs from an organic horticultural perspective A talk about herbs (robyn James) we will explore the plants from a herbal medicine perspective We aim to - - learn how to understand the properties of a plant through taste and direct experience of the plant, tuning ourselves into the subtle effects of each plant and how it works in the body. - learn how to become intuitive with using plants for medicine in our daily lives - Learn about the physical properties of the plants from a scientific perspective as well as the more magical/spiritual properties of plants from traditional folklore perspective. 16 places on course.
