Description | The Story Forge is delighted to be hosting Rachel Murray for an evening of traditional stories celebrating, blessing and honouring all things water. Water and stories are intertwined, we cannot live without either. There’s nothing like tradition and May sees the time honoured custom of Well Dressing in Derbyshire starting to flow. It is a time to celebrate and honour all things watery, to give thanks to this most precious element, our life source. Water will be woven into words and poured forth to refresh, replenish and renew. Rachel Murray is often to be found roaming the hills and dales of the Peak District muttering stories to the winds and the odd passing sheep. She does also tell to real life people, especially if they have an odd sheep with them. Captivated by stories as a youngster, her love of a good tale has only intensified with age. Now she enjoys sharing all manner of stories with all manner of people. Doors open at 7.00 p.m. get a drink from the bar and join us up the staircase ready for the show to begin at 7.30 p.m. Meals can be ordered from the bar and delivered to you in the audience Story Forge runs monthly storytelling nights for grown ups. We are delighted to be working with ENVIRONMENT WEEKS to bring you this special evening of stories honouring our waterways. Tickets avaiable here, by donation. Sales will close a few hours before the show but there will also be tickets on the door. |
