Description |
The Production Team at Chatsworth look after the kitchen and cutting gardens (the production gardens) on the estate. They are responsible for growing much of the produce and flowers used in the house; also supplying the farm shop and providing flowers for weddings and other events.
In this lecture, the team will provide a glimpse into these gardens which are usually out of bounds to visitors. They will describe how these gardens are developing and how the changes imposed by the last couple of years have led them to review what they grow, why they grow it and how other developments in the Chatsworth gardens, including the Arcadia area under the supervision of Tom Stuart-Smith, will come together to improve the garden as a cohesive whole.
The team comprises Gardener Mick Brown, Kitchen Gardener Glenn Facer and Sophie Bromley who looks after the cutting garden. Each will give us an insight into their individual role and how they work together to supply fruit, vegetables and flowers to the Chatsworth estate.
