Meet At | Northern General Hospital Corner of Norwood Road and Herries Road Sheffield S5 7AU |
Description | We would like to welcome Hallamshire History Association for this walk of approximately 2 miles, incorporating some of Burngreave’s rich history. From the remains of an Iron Age fort in Roe Woods, through to the 19th Century ‘Passhouses’, this walk will have something to interest everyone. Football fans might even be interested in seeing the grave of one of Chelsea’s first footballers – who finished his career at a whopping 25 stone! The walk starts near the Northern General Hospital on the corner of Norwood Road and Herries Road (S5 7AU), and will end near the junction of Spital Lane and Burngreave Road (S4 7UD). |
