Meet At | Free Car Park on Station Road Station Road Darnall S9 4JU |
Description | 70 Acre Hill has become a natural haven for many wildlife habitats; butterflies, moth’s amphibians, and birds also in recent years home to highland cattle which graze on the hill overlooking the airport. This relatively undiscovered site is the perfect place to take a walk, admire the views, and meet the wildlife. The walk will also take in Tinsley Wood, and although only the palest shadow survives to tell of its former glories, it is one of the most historic survivals of the wildwood in our region, its story stretching way back to Anglo-Saxon times before the Norman Conquest. Meet at the free car park on Station Road near Darnall railway station (S94JU) at 6pm. This walk is approximately 3.2 miles. |
